As we listen to music, we are swept away into a place where only music can take us. Are we being swayed by our feelings? Or can music literally control us? Making us feel a certain way, developing a new thought, taking on a particular belief, hope for something unseen.
With this power in mind, some musicians do a great job of carrying this responsibility of influence and help change the world for good. Others desensitize us and can instill in us a complacency for music and dullness.
So... "The Inspiration" for this blog came from one specific band that I have listened to for years. Now recognize, you may not care for this style of music, but it's not about preference or popularity, it's about creativity and uniqueness combining to create music that spurs the listener on to imagine, enjoy, love, and hope. The band is Cartel. I encourage you to spend fifteen minutes or so with your eyes closed and ears open so you can focus on the greatness this band shows, through the story three of their songs tell together. Try to straight through without any interruptions and no breaks between songs.
Minstrel's Prayer, Q, and A, last three songs to the first CD, Chroma.
